The word « alcyonaire » designates a deep-sea soft coral that looks very much like a tree. I wanted its equivocal aspect to contrast sharply against the blue background of the sea. Then, I added gold in order to intensify the trunk’s undulation. The white highlights capture the light that filters through the reef.
